when I un-boxed the radio it was in perfect condition, it was an orphan so I looked for any past usage but it was perfect. It was the older model so it doesn't have the Europe switch on the back for AM operation, in that country. But don't need it here in the U.S.A., the only problem was the AC adapter, it had a loud buzzing noise. I called C Crane Radio and they shipped me a new AC adapter at no charge. I turned on the radio and WOW!! It pulled in stations from Mexico to Canada. And I live in the middle of Kansas.
The company C Crane Radio stands behind their products. The EP Pro radio out performs any radio on the market that I have tested.
Only thing I don't like is the popping sound the radio makes when you turn it on, but this is normal for this radio.
AM FM everyday use and long distance AM listening.

I have both the EP and the EP pro. I've had the EP pro for about 1 month now and ha e to say that its better at pulling in weaker stations than the EP is. I have it on about 2-4 hours per day with the backlight on and its still running strong on the first set of batteries. As I said first thing I noticed was the clarity and sensitivity on FM. On AM first thing I noticed was the funky muting that requires you to really tune slow. But if you do youll find that the radio is also great at pulling in weaker signals and holding on to them better than the analog EP. I also feel that the sound is improved over the old EP. bottom line its been worth the money so far. Dont find basic radios in this class anymore.
Excellent FM sound and reception-sensitivity and selectivity. AM also sensitive and if you have the patience to tune very slowly youll find its selective too. So far solid battery life running at medium volume 2-4 hours each day for one month.
Funky AM muting can throw you off until you get used to it. Give it 4 out of 5 only for muting in AM.
Around the house on vacation. Whatever.
