Longer Range than the average WiFi Extender - 2.4 GHz.
The Long Range Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 can be the best WiFi solution for home, mobile, RV, student and travel. It plugs into your PC computer's USB port for a powerful WiFi Internet reception. On average you can get 300 to 400 feet even through several walls. Performance: Most people can watch Netflix in HD quality with the Super USB 3 in an average situation. In an extreme line-of-sight test with no obstructions we connected to a network one mile away but speed was significantly reduced.
The Super USB 3 is best suited in a less WiFi crowded area as might be found in the country for a guest house, barn, end of a road or large home. The USB-3 uses 2.4 GHz which is longer range than other bands. (In a WIFI crowded "city" type area 5 GHz is usually a better choice). You can use the 2.4 GHz CC Vector "Extended" Long Range WIFI Repeater System in a WiFi congested area because the narrow beam antenna is not as susceptible to interference.

I was surprised when a did a speed with and without the Antenna, to find out it cuts speeds in half. Half is better then nothing. Wish you guys wrote a driver for Android!

I've been using this antenna for less than a year and it has already started to fail. I have the antenna permanently mounted on the roof of my RV sheltered from the wind and rain, but it has developed a bad connection inside the antenna. I can go up on the roof and tap it back into operation but when I move the RV it will disconnect again. The poor connection is not in the cable itself but inside the antennae, perhaps where the cable leads terminate and attach to a circuit board. I suspect vibration from driving was enough to damage it. I suspect this antenna would be fine indoors or in a sheltered outdoor location where it doesn't move, but for a vehicle or boat that gets used frequently I think I need a different product.
Easy to installEasy to useCool lookingWorks well when it works
Too fragile for vehicle use
Permanent indoor/outdoor mounting where it is sheltered and doesn't move.

I live and work at a remote wilderness lodge. Our only access to the world is our satellite internet service. We have wifi routers in the lodge itself but i live in a trailer several hundred yards from them. I could occasionally get a bar of signal and maybe get my email or the news. The CCrane WIFI antenna 3 has quadrupled my signal at the same distance. The power boost option (second usb plug) really does help as well. This frees me up to move my camper further back into the trees so as not to visually impact the lodge grounds. Nobody wants to see a 1962 camper outside their window when they are paying to stay here, and I don't blame them. Along with a small solar/battery setup this CCrane antenna will allow me to have a bit of convenience in my time off from work and benefit the lodge. This antenna does work exactly as advertised. One tip I wrapped my antenna, including the connectors, inside a plastic bag and secured the bag with a rubber band. It is hung unde
Compact design, simple setup on Windows 7,power boost option really works, doubled reception at same distance, very long length cord, great attachment options

I have used this unit on Windows and Ubuntu, and it is excellent. I even installed the unit on the roof of my house in the scorching sun, wind and rain it it performed superbly. If mine ever breaks, I will buy again. If you need an antenna that will pull in weak routers, this is it. Notice that the low ratings are all from Mac owners. The problem is using Macs, not the antenna.
Powerful. Sturdy. Easy.

This antenna works well by itself, unlike the ALFA repeater it is packaged with.
Works well as advertised.

This is the best thing I've added to my laptop to receive WiFi signals!! Since I hooked it up, I haven't lost signal and the speed rarely slows, plus no more drop signals!!
easy install,great reception
works well with an obstructed line of site!

This product worked great until I upgraded OSX to Yosemite. Now it is useless. I see the explanation in a prior review, but Crane should either write the software themselves or have a better contractual relationship with those who do. This is not acceptable. You are abandoning all your Mac users.

There is one big problem with this antenna that, if I had known prior to purchase, would have changed my mind about the purchase. The software to support the antenna is not consistently updated for Macs. Per the response to my complaint that I received from the manufacturer: Unfortunately we do not write the software for our USB devices. This normally comes from the manufacturer of the chipset that is used in our products. We will do our best to get an updated driver for our products and do understand the importance of keeping up to date with changes of software. You will be contacted via email once we hear of any updated software drivers. The manufacturer went on to say that it could be days, months, or even YEARS before the software is updated. Without updated software, the antenna is a useless piece of $100 hardware. The software is currently not updated for Apple OS X Yosemite (10.10), so the antenna that I purchased just over one year ago is currently useless.

We have been having constant Wi-Fi problems at the RV parks until the purchase of this antenna. I mounted it on a piece of conduit with tie wraps and ran the wire through the slide clamping the pipe with simple spring clamps from the hardware store. The software is a breeze and the reception now is better and faster than my AT&T Wi-Fi. Excellent product to cure your problem and easy to use and install. You wont be sorry purchasing this antenna.

Has meet my expectations. I had an increase in signal that almost doubled. I was getting about 40 to 45?ignal strength. With the Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 it has jumped to 80 to 90?sing the antenna in the same location). Great product.

Suctioned cupped the varmint onto a high (10ft) eastward facing window about 25ft from computer. Turn on windows 7 and as advertised the varmint went off to ccrane and found the drivers and installed same. The varmint works with Linux Ubuntu 14.04 and Mint 13. Will try varmint on windows 8 and post the results. The quality of Super 3 is much better than Super 2, however, Super 2 served my Linux Mint 11 OK. Super 3 delivers a much stronger signal. I hope the varmint keeps on giving :-)

I am this to piggy back from my home router. My shop is about 125 ft away. It picks up fine and has saved me from have to have another internet connection and therefore, additional bill.

I've owned this antenna now for almost two years with absolutely no problems. I've had to replace the 30 cable, but no big deal. I live in an RV Park and have the antenna mounted on an extendable pole, with the antenna about 3 above my roof line. The antenna was needed to get a decent signal from the parks wifi point. At a distance of over 200 yds. I get full strength signals the vast majority of the time. I wish you could come up with a device that would allow me to connect the antenna to a wifi router. At the moment i use a program called connectify that turns my laptop into a hotspot and transmits a wifi signal throught the trailer for my smartphone and my wifes laptop. it is a work around, but a dedicated device would be nice. all in all a great antenna

As everyone has said, works way beyond my expectations. In-and-out 28?signal is now steady 100? I havent tested moving even further away, but I suspect Im not even challenging it. I'd order another one instantly IF ONLY it had a driver that would work on my wifes Android tablet.

This is a fantastic antenna. It really does pull in weak signals. Overall, it is a very valuable addition to anyones equipment. So why the 2 stars? Because it now CRASHES A MAC COMPUTER EVERY TIME IT IS REMOVED, necessitating a lengthy restart!!!!! This problem surfaced after the upgrade to OS X Mavericks. C. Crane, please make this antenna play nice with Mavericks and you are back to 5 stars!!
