With the low noise C. Crane AC Adapter you can power the CC Skywave™ or charge NiMH batteries while they are in the radio. The CC Skywave™ will recharge a set of 2 AA NiMH batteries in less than 10 hours. Never mix batteries with different chemistries, or mix old and new batteries together in the radio. It has a 6 foot cord.
You can power your radio or charge NiMH type batteries with the USB jack connected to a computer or USB power adapter.
Please note that when powering the CC Skywave™, a computer or non-approved power adapter may generate too much interference on the AM, SW, and AIR bands. The FM band should not have as much interference when connected. For best reception, we recommend using the C.Crane power adapter or AA batteries.

I use this on my new Skywave.
Easy to use. Extends the charge life on my rechargeable batteries. Charges over night
CONS
Just that I had to order it separate from the radio. Would like it included with the sale.

Catalog illustration does not show two ferrite donut filters molded into the cord. These can be a little bit cumbersome in use. I have a CC Skywave and a CC Skywave SSB. This works with both. I can't hear any noise on the radio bands AM/shortwave/FM, etc with this in use. There is no difference in radio noise between using this and using batteries only. I bought it to support in-radio battery charging so I can use NiMH AA batteries without worrying about recharging issues.
Cord is long enough for most uses. Converter is radio-quiet, so does not affect reception.
CONS
Cord is a little stiff, has RF suppression beads. Might be a little bit more cumbersome to handle than lower quality converters.

When I bought my CCSkywave, I also ordered the adapter. Around the same time, I had also ordered a GP-5 SSB from CountyComm. I went to Universal Radio and ordered an adapter that they had to go with that radio. It created a ton of interference, and it would not even be worth returning because of Universal-Radio's return policy. I decided to try the CCSkywave AC Adapter on the GP-5 and it was totally noise free and worked perfectly. I asked CCrane if they felt it was a good adapter for the GP-5 and I got their answer quickly. I am writing all of this because I want to tell everyone how much I appreciate their integrity. They only sell products that they can stand behind, and they have excellent customer svc. I can honestly say, I would buy from CCrane before anywhere else.
Absolutely no interference,Works for one of my other SW radios too
CONS
Absolutely NONE!
