Most people get a wiFi radio so they can listen to their favorite stations with perfect clarity. With the CC WiFi Radio the stations are always clear, no matter how far away they are. You are also able to pick up stations on the CC WiFi that are difficult or impossible to get on a smartphone.
Music is probably a big part of your life and the CC WiFi lets you travel back in time and relive memories and feelings you thought you might never have again. You can receive your favorites anytime, anywhere with perfect clarity and maybe even a few tears. You can also listen to Pandora®, iHeart®, your favorite talk show or discover something new from an immense library of audio from all over the world in all languages.
The operation is more straightforward than finding a new station on a computer or smartphone. It does not have a color screen, so advertising is a tiny fraction of what is found on a smartphone or computer. You will probably find about 100 times more stations of the type you like (approximately 16,000 stations) than any satellite radio. . . all subscription free.
The CC WiFi has good audio for its size and it can be connected to your stereo system directly for superb audio. You can also use our FM Transmitter-2 to send the audio to a nearby radio or stereo.
Your WiFi network's name and password are necessary to use this radio.
Weight: 1 lb 2.6 oz.

I just received my CC WiFi radio today, and already I am really enjoying this radio! And, for a small speaker it sounds great in my bedroom where I am using it. I really wanted a stand alone internet radio, and keep eyeing this one for a long time. Now that I own one, I just don't know why I waited so long! Highly Recommended!

My experience, compared to other similar units, is primarily negative. It is very slow to start up. Sometimes round 40 seconds or so if it has been off for a while, around 20 if it has recently be on. The menu system is painfully slow. The support for podcasts which sold me on this unit is quite limited. The IR remote receiver is at the very bottom of the front panel. As a result, if you have the unit on a shelf even slightly above the level of your remote and not all the way at the front edge of the shelf, the remote can not control the unit. You need to hold the remote up above the level of the shelf. The remote is quite small and difficult to use if you have older hands. There is now way to tune from one station to the next with a single button press. Each must be recalled separately. And to recall a two digit station number 20 for example requires four button presses, 'Recall', '/-', first digit, second digit. Basically it sounds great, but it is not a unit I would suggest
Very nice sound.
Very slow to use.Very small and inconvenient remote.Podcast support limited.Generally poor interface design. No bluetooth.
Kitchen radio. On, off and less that 10 stations preferrably 3 or less for use without the remote.

As long as you have a reliable internet connection, and know the password, you will have virtually unlimited stations to pick from.
Great sound from little speaker. Price is fair.
I owned this for several months now. I can't find any significant cons worth mentioning. In fact, I'm considering buying a second one while the price is only $99.
Bedside nightstand. Also great for late night talk shows. Found a great soft rock station out of Philly also.

All the features work as advertised. Learning to use them takes some time, but it's worth it.
Reasonable sound quality for its size and price point. Easy enough to move around within range of the WiFi signal. I appreciate that the display is not overly cluttered.
The CPU seems kind of weak. Sometimes, stopping a stream is helpful when browsing large UPNP shared playlists.
Live streaming. UPNP playback.

This radio is fraught with many, many problems. The directions included with it are worthless and usually do not apply. Trying to set it up and use it are highly problematic as the instructions are useless
piece of crap without explicit instructions.

Radio works fine. Takes a little time to set up favorites, but not at all hard. Volume is very good for a small radio. Sound quality is fine.
Small, so fits about anywhere.Simple operation, once favorites set up.Sounds great.
Wish it had a 90 degree power plug so it would fit closer to a wall.Wish it didn't take so long to connect to network or had an setting to stay connected when off.Not the fault of the radio, but other than PBS and BBC, free streamed channels are becoming almost constant commercials. iHeartRadio is probably the worse. Counted over 30 commercials in a row, with the same 5 repeating over and over before giving up. Don't know how many more Xfinity, Geico, Progressive Insurance, and O'Reily Autoparts commercials I can take...
Listening to talk radio, if they ever get around to playing some.

I sure enjoy this radio, as now I don't have to have my computer on to listen to the radio, that I want to listen to.
Real easy to set up, for me, can just listen to the stations you want to. Everything comes in nice and clear.
Takes a little time to connect to the network, finding the stations I want to listen too takes some work.
I got it to listen to Conservative news/talk radio only I could care less about anything else. No more liberal, biased, Fake News media.

Fantastic, better than I imagined. We live in an area with poor radio reception, that's why I bought this radio. Couldn't be happier.
WiFi, small, good quality sound, good reception
I wish it had Blue Tooth for speaker connection. It does have a Line Out jack as well as a headphone jack
I bought it for talk radio and music

Having owned 3-4 other Crane radios, I found this a very compact, clean and good sounding radio. It found my home wifi quickly and I was able to enter my WPA password quickly. I selected 60's genre and I was listening to music in minutes! Very compact. Remote is straightforward too! Recommended.
Small size, clear display.
On nightstand, or as a personal radio.

We recently moved and my wife was missing one of the radio stations she used to listen to. I have had a CC WiFi radio for about 9 years and after letting my wife use it for a few days she wanted one of her own. Works fantastic!
Listen to what you want when you want as long as you have a WiFi signal.
Enjoy all kinds of music.Clear talk radio reception.

My son gave me this wifi radio. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to program this radio. I don't know how the damn thing works. I get one 60s station. The has not been registered keep coming up.
Sounds good from the only station I get.
I cannot set up the damn thing up. I want to get numerous talk radio shows. In the afternoon in Boise, we get Ben Shapiro. Love his ideology, cannot stand his delivery. Annoying.

I have 2 CC Wifi Internet Radios both older models - one in NY and 1 in PA. One needed repairs. Easy to arrange for pick-up and delivery back. Wonderful customer service by phone. So glad I found ccrane!
Reliable product. Very versatile.
Newer wifi radios don't have ethernet port.
Both radios solved the problem of poor reception - in big city rural area. Pillow speaker is great for nighttime listening.

This WiFi radio provides easy, simple-to- operate connectivity to broadcast radio stations from throughout the USA and around the world with excellent audio quality.
Attractive unit with a direct menu path to navigate quick accessing to specific locations, sud-sorted to specifically identified radio stations on an easy-to-read screen.
The addition of a control to shut off the lighted screen like the CCRANE 2E radio would be benificial. I have connected my radio to a simple on/off AC power switch. That for me is a significant improvement.
I have my CCRANE WiFi receiver next to my CCRANE 2E radio... I now totally enjoy broadcast radio station any time during the day or night!

I have purchased four of these radios over the last few years keeping one in each location. The third one I purchased a Purchased as an additional spare radio but when I started to use it the volume knob got increasingly hard to operate. It was way past the return. And I didn't get much satisfaction from the company. Eventually I gave up what the radio away and recently called explain the situation they ended up giving me a 25 discount on a new radio but in reality it still cost me about the same. But I like the radio so much I ordered it. You were disappointing to me that they wouldn't just take the radio but I can replace it considering I had bought a couple more before but all in all I'm satisfied with the product. I only wish there were some place I could go on the Internet to get a guide to help me find the particular station as Im looking for
Great reception small size and a decent speaker
The remote only allows you access nine stations with the push of one button the other presets you have to push three buttons to get it the station that you want which is a bit annoying
Bed side radio

All around best offering C. Crane has ever had. It's beats the heck out of the two previous offerings. Included are the Reciva database YAY!, iHeartRadio, radio.com CBS and Pandora.
I haven't seen any negatives yet. I don't think there are any. Maybe a bigger speaker would be nice. Bluetooth would be nice. These can be worked around however.
Listen to ANY wifi station that you can think of because it includes three of the major aggregators. No TuneIn but that's not even an issue because Reciva more than makes up and is far superior to it anyway.

This radio is great. The instructions made it easy to install and get connected to my WiFi router. I was then able to find and store stations that my wife wanted. One was in Fresno, one in Southern California and the tied in Denmark. It takes about a minute for the radio to start up, but after that it moves from preset to preset without delay. Sound is crystal clear. I highly recommend this radioo.
3 presets on front of radio. Can have 99 presets.Crystal clear sound. Can put out loud sound.
Takes about 1 minute to connect to router on start up.
News, music, clear radio stations, internet stations.

Great sound and can listen to stations all over the world.
Nice small size and great sound. Excellent station selection and customer service.
Had to send first radio back because it did not stay connected to WIFI. Replacement came quickly and works well. Finding stations is a bit tedious but is easy to save as pre-sets.
Great for listening to far-away stations or stations with weak signals.

Absolutely love this radio!! Great sound and you can receive stations from all over the country and world!
Great sound. Nice small compact size.
Takes a while to learn how to find the radio stations and then how to store them.
Any room in the house.

Great radio . Easy to work . I play it through my stereo system from the out put jack ... clear as a bell !
Easy to workSound quality is good -very clear .Fewer Comercials Great station selection . You can even request one you like as long as you have a link. And you dont have to run your pc to hear music . Small size lends to easy placement .
Some stations have low bit rate so sound can be muffled .Like media player , the higher the rate the better sound . Most good station send out at 128 kbps or higher .
Listening to music for hours from great ataions you could not normally get

Good sound in small package. Enjoy traveling the world listening to music
So many stations to choose from. Great sound at a good price. No monthly fees.
Directions not real clear for a non-tech person. Radio shuts off on its own after about 3 hours.
Can listen to music from around the world. Use mainly in my shop.

Very pleased with the WiFi radio and meets all my expectations.
Can get almost any stations . Enjoying Pandora.
Did have to send first radio back due to it not staying connected to the WiFI. They sent me a replacement and it is doing great.

I got this radio to use in an area where normal reception is very poor, and was very pleased with the results. The CC WiFi has good sound quality for all of the stations I have tried, now matter how far away the station.
Clear sound, unaffected by factors that affect over-the-air waves, including the lowering in power, interference, or building structures affecting the waves.
A little clunky to find stations, but once you find the station you can find it again by making it one of the pre-sets.
Especially good for far-away stations where the signal is just too weak to pick up over-the-air, or for buildings that offer poor radio reception even for stations that are fairly nearby. Also works as well as a normal radio even when reception is good.
The message "Stream Ended" could mean a few different things:
- The radio lost the WiFi connection between the radio and the router. A power cycle normally forces the radio and the router to reconnect. If this is an ongoing occurrence, please contact us.
- The station had an interruption with their stream, or the station's network has such a high amount of people connecting to the stream that it drops connection.
- If listening to Pandora, this can occur when it is unable to find the next song that matches the criteria that you selected (doesn't happen a lot but can happen).
This can happen if there is an interruption in power to the radio, by default. If you experience this, it is possible to change a setting on your Reciva account to prevent this from happening (must have your radio added to your Reciva.com account).
- Log into your Reciva account at https://radios.reciva.com/.
- Scroll down and click on Manage My Radios.
- Click on the serial number listed.
- Click in the box next to "Go to standby after powercycle" to show a check mark.
- Click on Update.
- Unplug the power connection from the radio for 15 seconds.
- Plug the power connection back into the radio.
- After radio reconnects to your network a message may show "Updating Settings" and restart. Wait until it finishes.
- To test this, unplug the power connection from the radio for a few seconds.
- Plug the power connection back into the radio.
- Radio will come on and reinitialize and then shut off before playing a station.
It could be one of two reasons:
It's most likely that the website for that particular Internet radio station has changed the URL for that audio stream. When Web sites change their URL, it sometimes takes a while for Reciva to update their database to reflect the new URL. Once Reciva has updated the URL in their database you should have no trouble connecting to that Internet Radio station again. Computers are not affected by the URL change because they get the media players on your computer get the stream directly from the website and are updated automatically. Another factor that may be affecting your audio stream is a recent switch by some radio stations (mostly in the United States) to using Shockwave Flash-embedded players. These players do not use a standard streaming protocol and block external audio players. Many of these embedded players use an algorithm to change the URL of their stream dynamically from once a month to once an hour. The goal of these players is to force you to go to the station's website to view advertisements that help supplement the station's income.
