AM FM Portable Radio Designed for Long-Range Reception and Audio Clarity

The purpose of the CCRadio-2E is to make weak signals strong and also to produce crisp, accurate audio for the spoken word.

AM performance comes from our patented Twin-Coil Ferrite® AM Antenna and traditional FM reception is exceptional in its ability to bring in a weak station clearly. Audio can be adjusted for accurate, warm voice rendition and good musical performance.

This radio also has the NOAA weather band and alert along with the 2-meter Ham band. More information about the 2-Meter Ham Band can be found at CCRadio.com/2-meter.

Since the CCRadio's original debut the external design has remained the same but there have been countless revisions inside to improve performance, durability and audio. It is one of the most popular portables manufactured and many experts feel it is the best AM radio made. It has evolved into C. Crane's flagship radio.

Weight: 4 lbs (without optional batteries) Size: 11" W x 6.5" H x 4" D.
Battery Operated (4) D sized batteries or use the included AC power cord.

Features:
  • Exceptional AM reception with the Twin-Coil® Ferrite Antenna
  • Audio tuned for the spoken word
  • AM, FM, NOAA Weather Band with Weather Alert and the 2-Meter Ham Band
  • Clock, alarm, sleep timer, Headphone jack and adjustable display light
  • 5 one touch memory presets per band

Wow - Unbelievable
Fantastic, this is by far and away the best radio I have bought. It is the only radio I have tested that will pick up and enhance the signal on a FM Station in Vancouver 30 miles away that plays Coast to Coast after it switched from an AM Station. Now, after 4 months I can listen to it again. You Guys do a great job by bringing new innovative products to the marketplace. Keep up the good work.

Amazing product and value
I purchased a CCSSB and was so pleased I bought two more and the CC2E. Ok, a bit extravagant you might think but the 2E is my everyday in the house radio. Excellent reception and the batteries seem to last forever. I keep smaller units scattered about; one in the bedroom in a drawer, one in my Jeep, and another in my “Faraday stash “.Small radios but with great reception and sound. An added bonus is the simplicity of operation of these radios for this 77 year old retiree

Excellent Radio but
Excellent radio for the purpose I purchased it hurricane/weather/alerts. Performs very nicely, rather good reception for the area, and works well with my XM radio. Have two buts which are minor. Give me Bluetooth with the radio and it would be perfect. Secondly, shipping charges were rather steep I thought and took over a week to get here. After I had order the radio, I discovered if I had ordered via Amazon Prime, would have had no shipping fees plus a lot faster delivery.
PROS
Great radio, reception etc. Works well with XM radio

Bad Storms and Emergency Radios
I bought a C Crane 2E from you a while back. Last night was a particularly brutal weather situation where I am at and I set the 2E up to audible alerts. Although it woke me up 5 times last night yawn I feel great knowing that it works, I got the NOAA WX updates and that had it gone really bad I could listen to the local Ham repeaters. I'm a ham and have my own radios however I've been telling the neighbors about the 2E since it is much easier to use if you aren't a licensedham. Really saw the value in owning the 2E yesterday. Thanks.

Radio products are top notch. Don't order gift wrap.
PROS
Purchased the radio as a gift for my sisters birthday. The radio shipped as prmised and sister was delighted to have a travel radio.

Super duper radio
Come with a heavy price tag however I feel it is worth every penny. It's one of those radio's that will just play well for decades to come. Thank you c crane for a wonderful product. So impressed I purchased another for the bedroom .
PROS
Here in virginia beach sunday morning they were preforming maintenance on out local AM 850 station. And there it was the elusive KOA out of denver. The ccradio was hooked up to a 500' beverage running due west and terminated. What a fantastic DX radio. Also impressed with the build quality.

CONS
It muted when tuning for a split second but not a big issue.,My GE super radio II has much better sound but is not as selective for DXing. One example is the Super radio gets overload when hooked to my beverage. The ccradio filters are tight as a drum with no problem when hooked up the the beverage antenna. A true DX machine. There is no better radio for AM DXing than the cc right now in 2017.

BEST USES
DX ing AM and a very good FM tuner to boot.

Best radio on the market
I would recommend to a friend
PROS
With so much emphasis on TV these days it's hard to find a good AM/FM radio. However, with C Crane radios I've found a radio that performs the way a radio should. I listen to,'coast to coast,' every night which is long distance. My old radio would barely pick it up accompanied by a lot of static. But the C Crane picks it up as clear as a bell. Near perfect portable AM radio
My original CCRadioPlus gave my 12 years of near daily use in a wide range of conditions. A friend is now using it similarly. I use my portable radios primarily for AM with occasional Weather Band use. I'm able to tune stronger AM stations and the Weather Band atop the Cascade Crest and in the Okanogan Highlands when camping. It's a joy to find a product whose revision is actually better than the original!

Pinnacle of Perfection
I absolutely adore my CC Radio 2E. My first C.Crane product was the CC Pocket, which I use every day. I decided to get the CC Radio 2E to use in my home. I was blown away he the capabilities of this radio. Truly, the best radio I've ever owned or used. I listen to the radio about seven hours per day, and the audio quality of this radio makes listening even more of a pleasure. Honestly, I cannot imagine a better product. Extremely satisfied.

How good is this radio?
The CCRadio Enhanced 2E is so good it's ridiculous. It performs in the daytime as advertised, and at night it's a great DX radio. The noise floor is low, it's sensitive and selective. The radio not only sounds great through the speaker but also sound great with headphones and even earbuds. We have a local AM music station here with a good signal and processing, it sounds wonderful on the 2E Enhanced. This is a sturdy radio with a lot of electronics. I have an RF-2200, a Superadio II and III the 2E Enhanced is right up there with those classic radios. C Crane is a great company, who else would build a radio like this during the age of cheap electronics. The 2E Enhanced is worth the price. If you don't have one, get one! I can't imagine how anyone could be disappointed in the least. Another great radio from C Crane.

When the batteries in my first radio corroded and leaked it ruined the radio, I didn't hesitate to purchase another one. Best AM, FM, radio Iv'e ever owned!
If you are looking for an AM radio that can bring in weak and/or distant stations the CCRadio 2E radio I recommend highly. I live twenty miles west of Boston but love an AM radio station that has a very week signal. All other AM/FM radios that I have owned gave me nothing but static when I tried picking up that weak station. The difference with the CCRadio was that I finally could hear the station but there still was some background noise. I then decided to by from C. Crane the Twin Coil Ferrite AM Antenna Signal Booster for $99 dollars and that addition made the signal crystal clear! Love it!

Sounds good, average reception
The radio sounds good. Good quality sound. I bought it primarily to listen to AM radio. I wanted something that would pull in those long distance stations. This radio did no better than every radio I own, including a 70s era beat up old radio that I have. I expected so much more from a $169 radio! I owned the CCrane EP radio, but got stolen. The EP was an excellent radio, but I wanted digital tuning. That's why I bought this one. I'm very disappointed. It's 2015! One would think radios would be so much advanced by now.

As a field engineer for electric utility company, I needed a radio for use in the office and in the field. I wanted it to have the WX channels to keep me constantly alert to weather conditions while in the field. I must say this radio was cleverly designed. I love the hidden handle rubber grip on the back. Makes it easy to handle. This radio has every feature I could think of. The AM reception is incredible. The radio locks onto very faint AM signals. My experience is that CC radios are not that reliable. I probably wont buy any more.

Great sensitivity and selectivity!
The AM has great sensitivity! I live in S.W. Alabama and can pick up sports radio 620 in Tampa easily during the day. Bleed over is minimal next to local stations. The FM is great too! Theres a local station on 98.3 and 98.7. On a good day I can pick up a station from Panama City, Fl. easily on the exact frequency. In other words, I dont have to tune it in more precisely to hear the station. Best selectivity Ive ever heard on FM. The only thing I dont like is not being able to hear FM Stereo on the weaker signals. You have to have a perfect signal to hear stereo. Overall, a great radio!

A STELLAR PERFORMER! :-)
Likes: This is the radio of my dreams! Why? Its its performance that I find very satisfying! Its the most sensitive set Ive ever experienced. The audio reproduction of both voice and music are clear and full. I know, I know those are very subjective observations, but if you understand how a high-performance set should perform, then Im betting youll truly enjoy to the fullest the CCRadio 2E. On AM (MW) with this set in Central Florida, I regularly receive daytime ground-wave signals up to 250 miles distant. My CC2E is so sensitive that it will sporadically receive sky-wave signals during midday hours. For example, I have received clearly from Daytona WCBS 880Kc in New York City. Before I got this radio, I thought that sky-wave signals were entirely absent during midday hours. I have observed that the CC2E handles reception of locally strong signals quite well also with no overloading issues. Locally strong signals splash over about 13Kc of their designated frequencies, but the splash c

My new favorite
The Good: Superior AM reception. In my remote small town, during daylight hours this radio picks up about twice the stations of my others. FM reception as good as any other. Quality sound. Decent battery life. A built in AC power supply. Not only is it convenient, it is electrically quiet I dont notice any more electrical noise using the AC cord than I do on batteries. This is unusual. Solid, sturdy. It has a deep finger slot in the back which serves as a reasonably secure handle. Superior sound quality, which is also adjustable using bass and treble controls which have significant effect on the sound. Weather radio works very well. It uses D cells, which (if youre using alkaline disposable batteries) last longer than AA cells. (If youre using NiMH many of them dont contain any more fuel than a NiMH AA cell, or may only BE an AA cell in a larger casing, so depending on brand the rechargeable D cells wont have much more pow

CCrane You Did it again
You have made an older CCRadio even better. I believe there are alot of people who do not understand AM Radio. There is so much more to listen to on AM Radio and your people have blessed this listening pleasure with your CC Radio and other AM radios. Keep up the good work

I Love This
I attempted to buy the earlier version two years ago at Universal Radio in Reynoldsburg Ohio. It didnt work out as the power button on the demo stuck. This time it worked out. It is all promised and all owners say it is. Its sensitive and selective. Might be my imagination but it seems more sensitive at the lower end of the AM band than at about the X band (maybe due to that giant ferrite bar). The sound is pleasing. The display is bright. The ergonomics are good. It is heavy and stable. I dare say it is 80?r more as good as my Drake R8A in the AM band, and easier to carry on DXpeditions.(I havent done that yet.)The FM band is decent but I dont dwell on that band so I am not sure. The 2M band is promising but I found nothing tuning up and down. Im not sure if you can scan that. The weather band is useful but at first try it seemed to get only one station whereas the Bearcat scanner got five or more. Maybe I had a bad location. It works well with a wire antenna coupled to it via another

This one does not pick up the signals like the older model I had that had the television channels.
My other radio with the AM/FM/WX/VHF-TV seemed to pick up AM signals better than this model does. However, I am happy I got this radio since I had enjoyed using the other one for over 20 years. This one should last the rest of my life. : )

Great Radio
My only complaint is the on off button has an irregular shape that wears out after around 10 years use.

I'm not sure how I gone this far in life without it. I just love it. The best sound ever from an AM radio.
