The Kaito KA1103 is a peculiar, yet interesting radio. It takes a little getting used to, but once you do you will enjoy many features including: 268 memory presets, narrow/wide tuning switch, music/news switch, AM signal strength indicator, and two alarms. All frequency bands are displayed analog-style, with a digital readout on top. External antenna, earbuds, carry pouch, AC adapter, and four "AA" rechargeable batteries included.

It has a digital tuner that displays a digital readout and a simulation of an old-fashioned analog dial.
Press and release the VOL button located on the upper left corner of the radio. While VOL is flashing on the right hand corner of the of the display turn the main tuning dial located on the right side of the radio to adjust the volume. You will see the numbers on the right hand corner of the display go up and down indicating the volume level with 00 being the lowest.
The time is displayed in a 24-hour World Time clock format only.

There are four ways to tune the radio:
Manually enter a low-wave frequency (between 100 519khz), and depress the BAND+ button. From this point, the tuning knob can move up or down the LW frequency range.
