Sangean PR-D8 AM/FM Radio-MP3 Player/Recorder

It's a powerful AM/FM portable with a built in MP3 player and recorder. The right half of the radio is dedicated for AM and FM radio, while the left half is used to manage recording and playback. It can be controlled with one hand on each side of the radio. Traditionally AM radio is very difficult to record into MP3 format because of unwanted noise generated by the digital components inside the radio. The PR-D8 overcomes this problem by using good circuit craftsmanship techniques.

With the press of a button you can record your favorite talk show or music into digital MP3 format. A timer can also be set to automatically turn the radio on, record for a selected amount of time, and turn the radio off when finished. The PR-D8 will also record from old turntables, cassette decks, or any other source through its line-input jack.

A secure digital (SD) memory card (not included) is required for recording. With a 2-gigabyte SD card you can record for over 60 hours at standard quality 64kbps (kilobits per second). For high quality recordings you can adjust the recording quality to 128kbps or 192kbps. Selecting a higher kilobit per second recording rate will increase the quality but will also use more memory space.

The PR-D8 has two microphones on the front of the radio for recording your voice, meetings, or a concert in stereo. The sensitivity of these microphones can be set to "low" for recording loud concerts or "high" for recording those quiet board meetings.

Since digital recorders tend to use batteries quickly, the PR-D8 has a built-in charging circuit for rechargeable NiMH or NiCad batteries. Four "C" size NiMH batteries (not included) will record for about 10 hours and play for more than 50 hours.
