This is my travel radio. I unplug hotel Radios and rely on my CC SW for radio and alarm. We stay for weeks in a city where my son is local radio news director. The hotel Radios were so bad at pulling in local AM I started taking this with. No problems now!

Seems like a gem, like the auto set features and such. It needs an external antenna if you are in a vehicle or moving. But for a stationary sit on the porch and listen to the ball game sort of radio, it works great. Would have liked to see better reception considering that is the selling point used. I would buy another one, plus I bought an orphan, it was brand new, but less money, great deal.

The CC SW Pocket is a very powerful radio for its size. The sound is of good quality and the light weight size is excellent for traveling or just walking around. It fits in most top pockets and has great battery life which also adds to its light weight size by using 2 AA batteries. Excellent value for anyone who enjoys radio programs.

I love this little radio; my only complaint is the stepped volume feature. Always too loud or too soft.

Bandwidth selectivity could be better. I get a lot of bleed over from frequency adjacent stations.

This is a good radio and my only complaint is the same as other owners; there is a gap between the lowest volume level and the next one. The raise and lower volume buttons should have another level added in future models. I also notice that there is a loud beep when you hit the power button to turn it on and I don't know if this is normal.

Good sound quality light weight and dependable all the things needed when you are hunting rocks in the high desert and need to be aware of the weather in the high country so you can know if you have to watch out for flash floods add the external antenna and you are ready to go.

Great radio!
Only downside is that the volume buttons aren't very responsive or sensitive, and a volume knob would be vastly better than buttons.
Otherwise it's great- great reception and sound quality, very small, good battery life, etc. I haven't tried the shortwave functions much, but I like knowing that they're there.

I am not entirely pleased with this radio. The volume control uses up/down buttons rather than a knob or wheel, so the user cannot adjust the volume precisely. Also, it is difficult to program the pre-set stations. When I turn the radio on, there is a loud squealing sound just before the station comes on. Not sure what causes that, but it is very annoying. Reception for AM and FM is good, but the SW is poor. This was my first C Crane purchase. Overall, I would not recommend this radio for most users.

I love this radio! My husband gave it to me as a gift. It is the perfect size to take anywhere. The reception is really good too. The controls may seem confusing at first but it's easy to operate once you get the hang of it! I use it more than my ipod :)

Too much hiss when using earbuds and will not play soft enough. Too bad, because otherwise it's a nice radio.

I have purchased 3 small radios to use daily. First 2 were laughable, reception was horrible to non-existent, they ate batteries and could only marginally receive the channels that I frequent.
When I read about the SWPocket, I thought it might be the answer. WOW! what a little gem. This unit does everything I need and then some. The design shows a well thought usable radio that has exceeded all of my expectations. I call it my little friend since it is with me most of the day.
It is not a geeWiz embellished product... It is simple, functional and pleasing to the ear. Thank You for taking the time to design and build a product that is inexpensive yet with feature sets like more expensive radios. The SWPocket is rich with built-in features that make it a pleasure to use.
AND about the volume being limited. That person is dead wrong.

Great little radio! Excellent reception, easy to use, lots of features, and remembers more stations than I do. I doubt you will find a better quality radio with more features at the same price point. Bought one for myself, until my son "appropriated" it and I had to replace mine. He loves his, too.

A very well designed little pocket radio. I can operate all functions in the dark due to the well thought out button layout and shape.
Putting the volume on its lowest has allowed me to place the radio in my pillow case where I can rest my ear against the speaker to enjoy night time radio without disturbing the spouse.

I am not surprised another "orphan" is being offered. I bought mine that way and should have returned it, too. It has some good features that are outweighed by the seriously deficient volume control. The volume can only be adjusted in steps. Also, if you set the sleep timer, when it shuts off the volume instantaneously goes very high. Same thing if you use the alarm feature-when the radio turns on the volume is way too high at first. Very annoying if you are using it as I intended to-on my nightstand next to my bed.

Excellent radio. Great reception. Great clarity. Well worth the price paid.
The only thing I do not like about the radio, is that you adjust the volume using an up and down key, not a knob. There is a huge difference between the lowest volume setting and the next setting. I would like to have a knob with more sensitivity.
I use the radio when going to sleep, and my solution is to set the volume to the next to lowest setting and cover the speaker with a tee shirt that has been folded 2 times.
Besides that minor issue, I love the radio, think it is a great deal and I highly recommended it.
