The CCRadio-SW AM/FM/Shortwave Radio is a powerhouse, portable radio from C. Crane. Crane provides a clear, straightforward manual to get you started. Here are some of its outstanding features: RF Gain Control, Bandwidth Control, Bass and Treble Controls, Fast and Slow Tuning, 50 Memories, Lighted Buttons, Clock Radio with Snooze Alarm, Stereo Line Output and Headphone Jack, IF Output for Input to Computer. Runs on four "D" size batteries or four backup "AA" batteries (not included). Built-in charging circuit will recharge optional NiMh batteries right inside the radio-saving you both time and money. I give this radio a 5 star even tho I sometimes have trouble getting good reception - not the fault of the radio but my location in the woods. Also, I should opted for the CCRadio-2 for better AM/FM reception - it may have picked up better. All in all, I love to take this radio outside in my yard when I am gardening.

Like the sound and reception, not some of the controls.

I bought this radio several months ago and I am very disappointed with it . Won't pick up any far away AM stations. My old 1970's Realistic Patrolman-6 has twice the sensitivity. Sorry I chose this model, as I never use the short-wave.

I expected good reception and this radio delivers that. But to my ears the quality of the sound is just OK, not great, but OK. Radios of the 40's and 50's had much better eq choices. This radio at least has bass and treble controls which help a little bit.
