Boosts WiFi Range Up To 3 Times farther! Chipset Gain: Up to 20dBm, Antenna Gain: 4.5dBi Boost the range of your WiFi network more than one quarter mile line of sight! This up to 20 dBm High-Gain range booster omni-directional antenna is probably the best home, mobile or RV WiFi antenna made. Simply install the easy software and plug the cable into your USB port on your laptop or computer and you're ready to go. The antenna has suction cups that make it easy to place for the best reception. This is an all in one solution. Your computer does not need to have an internal WiFi card or antenna! In our test location, we only found two wireless connections with the typical 5 db antenna found on a standard router. With the Super USB WiFi Antenna we received six or seven. You can get much more distance if you want to put an additional WiFi Antenna on your router. 802.11b/g. Up to 54 Mbps. WPA and WEP encryption compatible. Weight: 1.7 oz. Size: 1.1" W x 9" L x 0.25" D. USB Cable: 15' L. Compatible with the following operating systems: - Microsoft Windows - 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Vista x64, Windows 7 *
- MAC - OS 10.3 - 10.5 (Not compatible with MacOS 10.6)
- Linux
Note: Software CD included with purchase. However, we recommend checking the Downloads tab from this product page to ensure the latest driver version and compatibility with newer systems (e.g. MAC 10.5 users). Windows Vista Users: Windows Vista does not use the supplied wireless utility. After installing driver software you must use the default Windows Vista wireless software to connect to an access point or wireless router: Connecting to Wireless Networks with Windows Vista. * Although the Super WiFi USB Antenna 2 is compatible with Windows 7, the WiFi software program included with the CD is not. It will function using the built-in WiFi program in Windows 7. Window 7 drivers are available here. | Weatherproofing Your Super USB WiFi Antenna | IMPORTANT! | The Super USB WiFi Antenna is much more useful when used outdoors. No, the Super USB WI-FI Antenna comes with a 15-foot USB cable. 15-feet is the maximum length of a USB cable because of power loss if a longer cable was used.

My computer has an internal Wi-Fi antenna; do I need to disable it before installing the software and the USB Wi-Fi antenna?
| |

I purchased the USB WiFi Antenna and when it is hooked up it does not improve my wifi reception. Is there something I can do to make it work better?
| |
Be sure that the antenna is positioned vertically in the center of the window if the WiFi source is outside your location. If you are using Windows XP, select More Settings then select change and adjust the TX Rate to 1 Mbps. Doing this will increase that stability and usability of the WiFi signal while still supplying enough speed for browsing the internet and streaming media.

Do I need to use the C. Crane software supplied with this antenna?
| |
If you are using Windows XP or Windows Vista then you are not required to use the supplied C. Crane WiFi Software utility. If the utility it is already installed then you can remove it from the Add and Remove Programs area in your Control Panel. Once the program is removed, insert the supplied CD into your computer and cancel out of the auto-run program. Next, insert the Super USB Wi-Fi antenna into your computers USB port and wait for the Microsoft Found New Hardware Wizard. Continue through the wizard until finished. Now you can use your Super USB Wi-Fi antenna with the Windows built-in WiFi Utility. To begin, select Start and then select Connect to to search for an available site.
