Significantly Boost Your Wifi Signal!Indoor / Outdoor (IP65 Rated) This is one of the best home, mobile, or RV WiFi Antennas made. The Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 plugs into your computer for powerful WiFi Internet reception. Installation is a snap and performance is outstanding. While testing it in our small town of Fortuna, California we were able to see an additional 20 wireless networks. On average, users can get 300 to 400 feet even through several walls. In further tests we were able to connect to a small wireless router from over 100 yards away, keeping 80% signal strength through several walls and obstructions. In one of our tests we even connected to a network a mile away. You may be surprised at what the Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 can do for you. The antenna incorporates a water resistant design for outdoor use (IP65 Rated), along with wireless “N” technology for lightning fast file transfers with your “N” router. It comes with a 15-foot USB split cable that offers two plugs to your computer, although normally one plug is sufficient for powerful reception. The antenna mounts easily to a window with suction cups or to the wall using the lanyard and "hook and loop" mounting strip. If you are trying to receive a very distant signal from outdoors, then the best place for mounting the antenna is above the peak of your roof so that signals can be received from miles in every direction. A cable tie is included for pole mounting outdoors. You can purchase an additional 30-foot USB cable so that you can mount the Super USB WiFi antenna on a roof, a mast or in a window. Compatible with 802.11 B, G, and N. Up to 150 Mbps. WEP, WPA, WPA2, WPS encryption compatible. Easy software included. Works with Microsoft Windows - XP, Vista, Vista x64, Windows 7, Windows 7 x64, Windows 8, Windows 8 x64, MAC OS 10.4-10.8. The Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 is also compatible with Linux Kernel 2.6 and Ubuntu 10.10 – Linux/Ubuntu support not offered by C.Crane. Weight: 1.8 oz. Size: 1.4" W x 10" L x 0.6" D. Note: The Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 requires installation of software drivers. Gaming stations such as the Xbox® and the Sony PlayStation®, the iPad®, iPhone® and Android® devices are not capable of installing these software drivers. |
It's up to you. The Super USB Wi-Fi Antenna is Omni-directional, and so it can receive the signal from any direction.
No, the Super USB WiFi Antenna should not be connected to an additional passive USB extension cable. Please use the 15ft USB cable that came with the antenna or replace it by purchasing an optional 30ft USB cable. It is not recommended to exceed the 30ft USB cable, as it can cause severe signal loss.
Check the connection between the antenna and the cable to be sure they are tightly connected. If only one USB port is available, make sure to use the main USB cable connector, not the optional Power Boost connector (single loose connector).
You may not have a strong enough WiFi connection. Successful connection to a wireless network usually requires a minimum of 2 bars of signal. If the signal is low, you can try relocating or repositioning the antenna with a better line-of-sight view to the WiFi source; or the wireless network does not offer internet service; or a firewall/virus protection is preventing access.
Be sure that the antenna is positioned vertically in the center of the window, if the WiFi source is outside your location. Using the optional 30ft accessory cable, you can mount your antenna outside and up high for best reception. Please consult the Assembly Guide (or Tips section of the Quick Start Guide) for weather proofing instructions.
It is not required, but it is recommended. If both WiFi connections are going at the same time, it will require more power from your computer and create extra heat. Usually there is a button, switch, or key on a laptop that disables the built-in WiFi device.
Installing the “Driver Only” is the easiest way to use your antenna. We recommend that only advanced users and Windows 2000 users install the Ralink WLAN Utility. For more assistance using the Ralink WLAN Utility, refer to the full user manual on the supplied CD.
IP followed by two numbers are protection ratings that are applied to indicate how well an enclosures protects against water, dust, oil, or other ingress. These ratings were established by the International Electro Technical Commission. IP itself stands for Ingress Protection. The first number being a 6 means: Totally protected against dust ingress. The second number being a 5 means: Protected against low pressure water jets from any direction. Limited ingress permitted. In layman’s terms it means the product is dust proof and water resistant.
One USB connector is for power and data transfer, the other is for a boost to power. You will want to use the power and data USB connector which is the one with two cables attached to it.
It is possible to be using the wrong encryption key and for the software to still say you are connected (because all the steps were followed). Please check your encryption key again to ensure the correct passcode is being used.
Please click the Downloads tab on this page and check for the latest driver.
We recommend that you use Coax Seal to protect the antenna connection from heavy salt water corrosion.
Check the bottom Task Bar area for a security shield or message that is asking permission to install the software. Also, if your computer has a third party Firewall or Virus protection installed, you may have to disable it. Please read the manufacturer’s instruction manual.
Connect to the network and click on “Add Profile”. See “Creating a Profile” on page 12 of the Quick Start Guide for more information.
No. The Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 requires installation of software drivers. The iPad® and iPhone® are not capable of installing software drivers.
The flashing blue light means the antenna is getting power and the intermittent red light means the antenna is communicating with the computer.
Yes it will. The drivers on the CD will work okay but it is recommended to use the drivers from our website for Windows® 8. The drivers are on the page for the antenna under the “downloads” tab.

We tested the range from the top of a high beach bluff to a road below that had no obstructions. On the top of the bluff, we pointed a 12dBi directional panel antenna to the road below. We stopped at 1/4 mile intervals and tested the WiFi connection and internet usability. At 1 mile a connection was made without a problem. We continued down the road testing for more range. At 1.25 miles the connection remained but was slower. At 1.5 miles, the antenna was out of range. It is theoretically possible to increase the distance by upgrading the access point's 12dBi WiFi antenna to a larger antenna.

This device is awesome. As a contractor, I can not access my customer's network for security reasons. I had to tether my laptop to my phone to get an internet connection. Now, with my office on the second floor, I can connect to a WiFi hotspot 1.5 miles away and my signal strength is strong!

I have lost track of the number of times that I have purchased an item online only to be disappointed because it did not live up to its description. Not so with this beauty. It has exceeded my expectations. Without this I would not be able to do what I am doing online. Thank you for a great product that performs exactly as promised.

I received the Super USB WiFi Antenna 3 today. I quickly hooked it up and stuck it to the inside of one of my RV windows just to see how it worked. I was immediately absolutely amazed at the signal strength and quality of my Wifi signal. Where I was getting 2 bars, now I'm maxing out the meter. I am also picking up 11 other strong WiFi signals and I haven't even put the antenna outside yet. And another point, my signal is now consistent, where as before it was in and out. I highly recommend this Antenna to anyone who needs to boost their signal strength.

The unit was shipped within a couple of days and installed flawlessly with Mac 10.7. It has performed as advertised and appears to be well made. It is easy for the connector at the base to become loose, so this needs to be checked regularly (weight of the cable hangs on a mini USB plug). Overall, I am glad that I bought it and recommend it to others who need to extend their WiFi range.
Caveats - I doubt that anywhere near one mile is obtainable in the real world. My experience is that about 500' under real world conditions (both ends beside a window, ground level, some foliage between) is the max. In my case, from inside wooden buildings with several walls in the way, the unit works well to about 200'. Beyond that the router will disconnect regularly as signal strength varies. That is enough range to justify buying it for connecting one building to another.
If you are beyond normal WiFi range, but well within shouting distance, this is probably going to work for you.

While plugging this unit into the usb port on the bottom of the antenna, the port receiver snapped of the contacts and disappeared up into the antenna. I am hoping it was just a fluke that this happened, so I have reordered the antenna and I am going to return the one I have for what I hope will be a pleasant return experience with C. Crane which I am sure it will be.

The Super USB Antenna 3 blows away all of the WiFi antennas that I have previously used. As a "professional tourist", I am always looking for WiFi hotspots to connect to, to surf the web, and to stay in touch with friends and family while on the road. I probably shouldn't write this, but it is also a great back-up if your home internet service should go down too ;). Highly recommend this antenna!

I'm sorry but I am VERY disappointed with the product. I installed the software as instructed, no problems. However the end result was TERRIBLE. It didn't pull-in ANY signals any better than a much cheaper antenna I'd purchased in the past elsewhere. I was expecting a lot more. I gave it away to a friend. I was so disappointed. Sorry....just stating the facts.
Big expenditure and big disappointment.

This product is used to access University of Hawaii's wireless network from a workshop inside a concrete building. Most built-in notebook WiFi adapters at this location get 1/5 bars of signal at most, while the Super USB WiFi gets 3/5 bars consistently.

All I can say is WOW. I've been struggling with a weak WiFi signal in our home for the past four years. I've tried router antenna extensions, relocating the router, three different routers and I still couldn't get a decent signal to my wife's computer. It was to the point of being very aggravating (her complaining about it). I installed this antenna on her computer in about five minutes and now she has full signal strength and I can see other router signals from at least a four block radius. In summary - excellent product, performs as specified and best of all - marriage saved. Thank you.

There are a couple of really neat features about this product. One nice feature is the very high gain ... while I intend to use it in my RV, I got excited when the antenna arrived and I stuck the antenna on a window close to my computer and I picked up signals that were not in range with my WiFire (formerly, my favorite choice when traveling). The next nice feature is that the antenna is omni-directional ... no longer will I have to carefully scan an area with a highly directional antenna. The next nice feature is the long cable and the fact that it can be used outdoors. The final nice feature is that the optional software is excellent, assuming that you want to fuss with the antenna.

At my home in a wooded area about a 1/2 mile out of a rural town on a hill, I was receiving three WiFi signals, two private and one public. My laptop connection to the public gave me one bar and dropped out 70% of the time with only one spot in the house that it would receive. I hung the antenna behind the curtain up high. Now I''m getting two bars consistently, 3 bars 5% of the time /overall a pretty good connection. I did not gain any other WiFi signals, but that''s expected for the area. Using YOUTUBE as a reference on uploads 1 - 10, I would give it a 7.5, and at times on a good day I would rate it almost 8-9 on speed. I would think it depends how many are connected to the same transmitter at once. Using Emails, Craigslist, live Doppler radar etc. as reference I give it a 10, and on a bad day about 20% of the time I would rate it an 8 - 9. I''m happy with how easy it connects, and you should make sure to disconnect the signal from the internal card when using it. On my Acer Aspire laptop overall, this antenna works decent.
After setting up my laptop, I connected it to my ancient Compaq Windows NT upgraded to XP...with the antenna in the same location. Not so good. It''s about the same as my laptop without the antenna. One bar if any at times. Even though, I did expect a little better signal. Overall I have decent communication, which will save me with one less bill.

This WiFi antenna is the best I went to 2 bar to 5 bar of strength but where I am at they are lots of block I pick up about 9 different signals but can only connect to 1 I wish they would sell 30'' cord with the antenna so you wouldn’t have to buy extra cord the 30'' cord has a boost on each end that give it more strength I have a lot more power thank you CCrane.

Excellent product. I had no WiFi signal on my laptop before installing the device, and now can choose from about a dozen, with up to about 60% signal strength, and I am at least 1/4 mile away from the nearest WiFi location. I was so pleased that my neighbor wanted one too, and called the salesman that I had bought it from. The fellow delivered one to him, at no extra cost! Now that''s service! This particular salesman is based in Quartzsite, AZ.

I am in Afghanistan, where personnal internet, at its best, is very minimal. I was hesitant about buying the antenna, for one thing not knowing whether it would work and for when I was looking at it, there was no driver for Mac OSX 10.8. I emailed customer service, and they replyed back with a link to the driver. I then ordered the Super USB WiFi Antenna 3, recieved it, down loaded the driver, installed the driver, which was unbelievably very easy, and BAM!, it just worked. My personnal internet is as fast or faster than our corporate internet. Awesome!

I initially bought one of these antennas...after having tried a number of other remedies to make our WiFi reception better. All of the other attempts failed, either because they were too complicated, or required an IT degree to install the device''s drivers. Where I live I get free WiFi as a part of my rental agreement, but we were having trouble keeping a good signal, and would lose contact. I purchased one of these USB3''s...and it solved the problems!!! We have two separate laptops in two separate rooms...so I bought another one... It goes without saying: This antenna does what is advertised, is worth the money, and made us very happy!!

Flawless, ideal, works out of the box with Mac OS X.
Can''t ask for better, this thing worked perfectly after loading the drivers and plugging it in. Went from a 20 signal to consistent 89. I''ve had it over a month and no problems, made all the difference in the world.
I use mine to increase signal quality in a 70''s ranch style single story home. Our home construction absorbs or scatters WiFi signals and this has made that problem a thing of the past. Couldn''t imagine using the WiFi without it.
Wouldn''t hesitate to suggest this for any person having WiFi signal trouble or a dead internal WIFI in an iMac.

I had to ditch my old wireless antenna once I got my new computer because it wasn''t compatible with 64 bit. This one''s leaps and bounds superior over my old one! It''s light, compact and very powerful. It pulls in signals much more efficiently and a lot stronger than my old one ever did. The software''s incredibly easy to install and it worked perfectly on first plug in without any hassle at all.
The only reason this gets four stars rather than five is that the 15 foot cable is the only option offered when buying the antenna. I had to spend an extra $25 to get the 30 footer and now I''m stuck with a 15 foot cable I''ll never use. It would be nice if C Crane would offer the option of either a 15 foot or a 30 foot cable when purchasing this excellent antenna.

I have an all metal Avion Travel trailer parked under a metal roof over approx. 50 yards form my house that also has a metal roof. I have tall oaks all around the property also. I could not get any WiFi signal from my router from my house into the Avion. After hooking up the Crane Super WiFi antenna just with the suction cups on an outside window I?m now getting 5 bars and picking up 5 more signals! This thing is just GREAT! I have since moved it to an inside window in the Trailer and I?m still getting 5 bars. Its sure great to be able to do my email, stream Netflix and talk on Skype now. This sure solves the problem that RVers have in Airstreams and Avions. The product is truly great!

This unit was bought to bring in the free wireless signal provided by my marina, where we are retired liveaboards. The built-in wireless card in our newer laptop was not pulling in the signal when the tide dropped and took us out of the range of the directional antenna. Eureka! This unit has grabbed the signal at 100% out of the box, with super fast response to page changes. The utility software is top notch and works seamlessly with Windows 7 (64). Thanks again for quick delivery and a super product. We will recommend you to the rest of our community!

After purchasing several other products, which did not work, I heard about your product, I ordered one and it works fantastic! We are in a campground and now I can have the internet inside my trailer, no more walking to the building! The main reason we wanted the Internet in our 5th wheel trailer, is we wanted to be able to use our Majicjack telephone, and it also works 100%. Thank you so much for the USB Antennae 3! On a scale of 1-5...it is a 5. I will be letting the other campers know how great the antennae works!

5 Stars all the way if you know what your doing or know some one who does. I have at least 6 full strength receptions and over 25 at any given time. the speed is fast. worth the price. I have it 10 feet above my roof on a plastic pole. I am at this moment buying another one for my father. Good job you guys, It''s more power than I need but it''s nice to know I have it.

You were correct, the USBIII is twice as powerful as the USBII, and the software was a snap to install. Thank you for your helpful and knowledgeable assistance.

Just want to let you know this antenna works awesome. We were getting a very poor signal from a friend in our RV Park in Arizona and as soon as we plugged it in we got full bars from him. Plus, we picked up a bunch of other signals. I will be telling my friends about this. Thanks
