Since the beginning of the radio age people have struggled
with getting more and better reception to their radio receivers.
Today one of the newest forms of radio reception is WiFi
which is also known as 802.11. WiFi is a digital transmission
that is carried over radio waves and typically is used to
transport internet or other media from one location to another.
Similar to AM and FM reception WiFi requires special antennas
which are made specifically for each wireless application.

What is WiFi?
| |
WiFi is short for Wireless Fidelity. It was
originally designed for sharing information
between computers in a home or business without
using wires. Today WiFi is on the rise and
is one of the most popular ways to communicate.
Devices like computers, radios, cell phones,
cameras, and even TV sets use WiFi as a way
to send and receive information.

You're going to need to get a WiFi device
for your desired application. If it is Internet
radio that you want to acquire then you will
need to get a WiFi
Internet Radio. If you want to browse
the Internet then you will need to get a WiFi
enabled computer or simply buy our Super

non WiFi computer. When your equipment is
within range of a WiFi Internet hotspot you
will be able to connect to the Internet.

How do I make my home a WiFi Internet Hotspot?
| |
You will need to get a broadband Internet
connection through your local phone company
or cable TV company. There is usually a monthly
service charge for broadband internet. Typically
your phone or cable company will offer various
levels of high speed internet that cost different
prices. Any level should be good for browsing
and streaming internet radio. In some cases
high speed internet will cost as little as
$15 monthly. After acquiring broadband internet
you will need a device to broadcast the internet
throughout your house. This device is called
a "Wireless Access Point" or "Wireless Router"
and typically cost as little as $30 at your
local electronics store. After setting up
the wireless router with the supplied CD you
will have made your home into a WiFi Internet
hotspot.
