You may have noticed this new acronym popping up on some of our products. RoHS stands for Restrictions on Hazardous Substances, and it's a directive that could have a huge impact on the production and disposal of consumer electronics. First adopted in Europe in 2006 (and later adopted in California in 2007), RoHS restricts the use of six dangerous substances in lots of common electronics. According to the official RoHS compliance Web site (www.rohs.eu), the RoHS symbol indicates that "new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain any of the six banned substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in quantities exceeding maximum concentration values."
While some military and medical equipment is exempt from RoHS compliance, the electronics governed by the standard are among the most common you'll find in your home, from radios to MP3 players to cell phones and (increasingly) computers. In practical terms, the standard protects factory workers at the production level, sharply reducing their exposure to hazardous substances. The standard also has a profound impact on the disposal and recycling of electronics, in that disposed substances will no longer have at least six of the most hazardous chemicals formerly found in electronics, and recycled electronics will not expose workers to toxics as they harvest components.
The WiFi Bridge Kit is the best way to connect two locations on the same router. This kit is very simple to set up. It comes preconfigured and wired by C. Crane so there are no settings to adjust or software to install. Just attach the antennas (sold separately) to each half of the bridge, at each location, and plug them in. Use larger antennas like the Point-To-Point WiFi Antenna for long distances, or smaller antennas for shorter distances. Good line of sight without obstructions must be achieved between both antennas for best reception. LED lights on each bridging device make it easy to align your antennas with each other.
Will it work for me?
You will need to connect the first half of the Wifi Bridge, using the supplied Ethernet cable, to an empty LAN port on your router. The Wireless Bridge then beams the encrypted Internet signal to your second location wirelessly. The second half of the kit terminates with an Ethernet cable that provides Internet and network connectivity to one computer or other device like a WiFi router. You will need power at the second location to power the Bridge.
The signal between the two points of the WiFi Bridge Kit cannot be intercepted by a computer or other device and is very secure. The cost of the WiFi Bridge Kit is a fraction of the more expensive proprietary systems. It provides up to 24Mbps of throughput which is faster than most Internet Service Provider download speeds. File transfer between two computers is limited to this same speed also.
Up to 150 feet of regular low cost Cat-5 or Cat-6 Ethernet cable (not included) can be used to mount the antenna even further away on top of a tree or tower.
This kit is designed to be plugged into a router that is configured using Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) which is the standard factory configuration of most routers. An Internet Connection is also required.

Yes, you can. You hop WiFi signals from the "client" house to another "client" house. To do this you will need an additional WiFi Bridge Kit and an additional router. You would connect the second bridge kit to the second router.
