The CC SW Pocket is undergoing some design changes. Unfortunately we do not have a date as to when the radio may be available. If you are looking for a great pocket radio of the same size check out our CC Skywave AM, FM, Shortwave, Weather and AirBand Portable Travel Radio.

In a true testament to its quality and performance, the modestly priced CC SW Pocket has been voted "Best Travel Radio under $200.00" by Passport to World Band Radio. The CC SW Pocket AM/FM/Shortwave Travel Radio has exceptional AM reception and audio quality and is sensitive enough to outperform most radios in its class. And it's small enough to tuck in your carry-on bag, briefcase, purse or backpack.

You can quickly and easily retrieve up to 200 of your favorite AM/FM and Shortwave stations in any order by simply turning the tuning knob and taking advantage of a smart feature called "Favorites". You won't lose the stations saved in the memory when you take out the batteries.

General Features:
  • Direct access to any frequency
  • Built-in speaker
  • Alarm clock and Sleep timer

Good sounding radio, dropped several times, never missed a beat. Only weak point is the volume control, not enough adjustment for low sound.

I bought this as an emergence radio that would fit in the pocket of the bug out vest I keep in my vehicle. This is just a large fishing vest with all the pockets filled with emergency supplies like food, mini folding stove, pouches of water, etc. After filling the larger pockets with essentials the remaining pockets were small. I needed a multi band radio that would fit in one.The CC SW Pocket radio was exactly what I was looking for. It fits snugly in the pocket I had left. It has decent reception and decent battery life.

The radio works fine other than the power plug I purchased elsewhere doesn't work with the radio. So we have been using batteries. I guess that's what I get for buying an "orphan". I thought you checked these used items before mailing them.John DavenportTucson, Az.

This is my travel radio. I unplug hotel Radios and rely on my CC SW for radio and alarm. We stay for weeks in a city where my son is local radio news director. The hotel Radios were so bad at pulling in local AM I started taking this with. No problems now!

Seems like a gem, like the auto set features and such. It needs an external antenna if you are in a vehicle or moving. But for a stationary sit on the porch and listen to the ball game sort of radio, it works great. Would have liked to see better reception considering that is the selling point used. I would buy another one, plus I bought an orphan, it was brand new, but less money, great deal.

The CC SW Pocket is a very powerful radio for its size. The sound is of good quality and the light weight size is excellent for traveling or just walking around. It fits in most top pockets and has great battery life which also adds to its light weight size by using 2 AA batteries. Excellent value for anyone who enjoys radio programs.

I love this little radio; my only complaint is the stepped volume feature. Always too loud or too soft.

Bandwidth selectivity could be better. I get a lot of bleed over from frequency adjacent stations.

This is a good radio and my only complaint is the same as other owners; there is a gap between the lowest volume level and the next one. The raise and lower volume buttons should have another level added in future models. I also notice that there is a loud beep when you hit the power button to turn it on and I don't know if this is normal.

Good sound quality light weight and dependable all the things needed when you are hunting rocks in the high desert and need to be aware of the weather in the high country so you can know if you have to watch out for flash floods add the external antenna and you are ready to go.

Great radio!Only downside is that the volume buttons aren't very responsive or sensitive, and a volume knob would be vastly better than buttons.Otherwise it's great- great reception and sound quality, very small, good battery life, etc. I haven't tried the shortwave functions much, but I like knowing that they're there.

I am not entirely pleased with this radio. The volume control uses up/down buttons rather than a knob or wheel, so the user cannot adjust the volume precisely. Also, it is difficult to program the pre-set stations. When I turn the radio on, there is a loud squealing sound just before the station comes on. Not sure what causes that, but it is very annoying. Reception for AM and FM is good, but the SW is poor. This was my first C Crane purchase. Overall, I would not recommend this radio for most users.

I love this radio! My husband gave it to me as a gift. It is the perfect size to take anywhere. The reception is really good too. The controls may seem confusing at first but it's easy to operate once you get the hang of it! I use it more than my ipod :)

Too much hiss when using earbuds and will not play soft enough. Too bad, because otherwise it's a nice radio.

I have purchased 3 small radios to use daily. First 2 were laughable, reception was horrible to non-existent, they ate batteries and could only marginally receive the channels that I frequent. When I read about the SWPocket, I thought it might be the answer. WOW! what a little gem. This unit does everything I need and then some. The design shows a well thought usable radio that has exceeded all of my expectations. I call it my little friend since it is with me most of the day.It is not a geeWiz embellished product... It is simple, functional and pleasing to the ear. Thank You for taking the time to design and build a product that is inexpensive yet with feature sets like more expensive radios. The SWPocket is rich with built-in features that make it a pleasure to use. AND about the volume being limited. That person is dead wrong.

Great little radio! Excellent reception, easy to use, lots of features, and remembers more stations than I do. I doubt you will find a better quality radio with more features at the same price point. Bought one for myself, until my son "appropriated" it and I had to replace mine. He loves his, too.

A very well designed little pocket radio. I can operate all functions in the dark due to the well thought out button layout and shape. Putting the volume on its lowest has allowed me to place the radio in my pillow case where I can rest my ear against the speaker to enjoy night time radio without disturbing the spouse.

I am not surprised another "orphan" is being offered. I bought mine that way and should have returned it, too. It has some good features that are outweighed by the seriously deficient volume control. The volume can only be adjusted in steps. Also, if you set the sleep timer, when it shuts off the volume instantaneously goes very high. Same thing if you use the alarm feature-when the radio turns on the volume is way too high at first. Very annoying if you are using it as I intended to-on my nightstand next to my bed.

Excellent radio. Great reception. Great clarity. Well worth the price paid. The only thing I do not like about the radio, is that you adjust the volume using an up and down key, not a knob. There is a huge difference between the lowest volume setting and the next setting. I would like to have a knob with more sensitivity. I use the radio when going to sleep, and my solution is to set the volume to the next to lowest setting and cover the speaker with a tee shirt that has been folded 2 times.Besides that minor issue, I love the radio, think it is a great deal and I highly recommended it.

  • Will the alarm work if I leave headphones plugged in?

No, the alarm will not work if anything is plugged in the headphone socket.

  • When I press and hold the FAVORITES button, will the CCRadio SWP scan only the presets I have entered?

No, when you press and hold the FAVORITES button the CCRadio SWP will bring up the entire preset station memory list. Once in the memory list, you have 3 ways to choose a station you have set into memory:

    1. You can use the tuning dial to scroll through the preset numbers.
    2. You can use the Up and Down tuning buttons to scroll through the preset numbers.
    3. You can direct-enter a preset station's number by pressing the FREQ button and then entering the 3-digit preset number.
  • Why does FM 70.0 MHz come up on the preset numbers?

FM 70.0 MHz is the default number on each preset. This number will appear on the display until a new frequency is programmed into that memory slot.

  • Will resetting the radio wipe out all my presets?

No, resetting the radio will not clear the memory presets; removing all power sources from the radio does not clear presets either.

  • What are the possible sleep timer settings?

    You can set the sleep timer for 90, 85, 80, 75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, 25, 20, 15, 10, or 5 minutes.

  • If I accidentally activate the sleep timer setting, do I have to wait for the timer to go off before turning the radio back on?

No, the last choice in the sleep timer selection is on. Select 'on' and the radio will continue to play continuously.

  • How do I program stations in memory (favorites)?

    1. Turn radio on.

    2. Press Band button to select FM, MW (AM), SW1 or SW2.

    3. Find the station you would like to store in memory by one of the following methods:

    • Turning the tuning knob.
    • Press the Freq button and then the frequency number using the numeric pad.
    • Press and hold the Up/Down button for 1 second and it will scan until it picks up an active station.

    4. Press the Mem/Time button.

    5. The letters "CH" will flash and the number to the right is the memory location. You can select the memory with either of the following steps:

    • While the CH is flashing, turn the Tuning Knob to select the memory location (00, 01, 02, etc.)
    • While the CH is flashing, press the number on the keypad to select the memory location (00, 01, 02, etc.)

    6. Press the Mem/Time button again. Your station has been stored.

  • How do I recall stations in memory (favorites)?

    1. Press the Favorites button and use one of the following options when the M.SCAN shows in the upper right of the display:

    • Turn the Tuning Knob clockwise or counter-clockwise to locate memory (favorites) location (00, 01, 02, etc.).
    • Press the Up or Down Tuning buttons to scroll through memory (favorites) locations (00, 01, 02, etc.).
    • Key in the memory (favorites) location (000, 001, 002, etc.). You must key in the 3 digit number because the CCRadio-SWPocket can store up to 200 favorites.

When you press the Favorites button it will stay in the M Scan mode until you turn the radio off or you press the Favorites button again.

  • How do I delete my presets on the CC SWPocket?

You cannot delete a preset once you have made one on the CC SWPocket. However, you can overwrite the previously used presets with any new station of your choice.

  • Does the beep tone alarm option use the humane wake system?

  • This is an excellent internet radio. I have had the unit playing constantly from the time I received it. Excellent sound for such a small unit and the remote works wonderfully.
    — James H., Richmond, BC
  • Good sound, lightweight and comfortable; not too tight on the head. I like one feature; it doesn't tell you where to place the speakers, left side or right side.
    — Harry W., Manassas, VA
  • I purchase this product specifically for AM recordings and it has worked superbly. I wanted to wait awhile before I gave my opinion on the product. It has worded exactly as advertised and more.
    — Jack L., San Pedro, CA
  • Very nice, economical home lighting. If you're used to the white light of fluorescent bulb replacements, these will offer the same type with no toxic ingredients or damaging UV radiation.
    — Gary B., San Francisco, CA
  • This antenna does work well; however placement and the shape you have it bent into is very important. I live about 70 miles away from Toronto and receive a lot of Toronto FM stations static free with the FM reflect.
    — Thomas S., Buffalo, NY
  • I'm not sure how I gone this far in life without it. I just love it. The best sound ever from an AM radio.
    — James G., Springfield, MA
  • This device is awesome. As a contractor, I can not access my customer's network for security reasons. Now, with my office on the second floor, I can connect to a WiFi hotspot 1.5 miles away and my signal strength is strong!
