Features:

The Ally has a small LCD screen, somewhat like a radio has. You can select files, navigate through various menu features and also see music track information (by USB or SD only). Smart phone and tablet users can take full advantage of the Ally's Bluetooth® connectivity and easily stream audio wirelessly. The Ally even has a speakerphone feature allowing you to answer calls directly from it. At just 10 ounces it makes it an excellent speaker for those that can't go without good audio at their travel destinations. It also has a built-in FM radio. Apple® lossless and .AAC format files cannot play from a USB thumb drive or SD card. Playback of these formats require Bluetooth® or the use of the included 1/8" Aux-in cable connected to your players headphone jack.

Sound:

The Ally effortlessly fills a medium to large size room with crisp, full range stereo sound and bass performance that defies belief. This makes it ideal for use with laptops, tablets, portable gaming systems, smartphones, or just for casual listening. For outdoor use (it is not weather proof or weather resistant) the Ally has incredible vocal projection and a wide listening field.

Battery Runtime:

The average run time is over 8 hours at medium volume. Play times will vary depending on volume levels and Bluetooth® operation. Please go to Center Point Audio for additional product information.

** Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are a great technology because of their light weight and high power. All Li-ion batteries are effected by age and temperature.

  • On very rare occasions, any lithium-ion battery can potentially overheat. It is best to charge them on a non-combustible surface.
  • If the temperature of the device becomes very hot, disconnect it from power immediately.
  • Do notleave Lithium-ionbatteriescharging while you're away.
  • If used daily, replacing the battery after 250 charges will reduce the chances of a rareproduct or battery failure.
  • If a Li-ion battery is allowed to fully discharge it is likely ruined. It is best to chargeLi-ion twice a year even if you are not using it.

More information regarding Li-ion battery safety is available here: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/safety_concerns_with_li_ion.

  • OPERATION TIPS

    • When I am listening to USB/SD/Line-IN/FM, the Senta Ally keeps switching to Bluetooth mode. Why is it doing this?

Beacuse a Bluetooth Source Device (phone, tablet, etc.) was connected to the Senta Ally previously. That device is set to automatically connect to previously remembered Bluetooth connections when they are in range. The procedure for correcting this issue will vary depending on your audio source. For smartphone and tablet users, turning off the Bluetooth function on your audio device will fix this issue. Please reference your Bluetooth Source Device’s manual on "Forgetting Bluetooth Connections", or "Un-Pairing Bluetooth Devices", for the details specific to your source device.

    • How do I exit or switch playback modes?

In any mode, at any time, pressing and holding the M button for 3 seconds will return you to the main menu. From there, you can select any mode or access the settings menu. Note: Returning to the main menu will stop all audio play back.

    • How come the Senta-Ally Speaker will not play my .wav file?

Some media players (on your computer) that are used to make .wav files can add additional characters to the file name that the Senta-Ally may not recognize. If you cannot play a particular .wav file, remove any special characters from the file name before you try again.

    • I am unable to get .aac or Apple® lossless files play.

The Senta Ally cannot play .aac or Apple® lossless files from a USB thumb drive or SD card.

    • I am stuck with ROOT showing on my screen after selecting U-Disk Dir. How can I resolve it?

When installing Thumb Drives or SD Cards with a lot of data on them, the processor will need several seconds to read the data. Press the M-button again to go back to your previous file. Wait a few moments then press the M-button one more time. Then select U-Disk Dir and you should be able to see your folders. The more data you have on the drive or card the longer you may have to wait for the Ally to recognize all of the files.

    • How do I pair the Senta Ally with my PlayStation® Vita?

      • Turn the Senta Ally on
      • Turn your PlayStation® Vita On
      • On your Vita go to the Settings Menu
      • Choose Network
      • Choose Bluetooth® Settings
      • Make sure the Bluetooth® feature is checked
      • Under the Bluetooth® Device settings you should see Senta Speaker
      • Click on it
      • Enter 0000 and click OK

The paired connection is now stored but it is best to turn the PlayStation® Vita off and then turn it on again. Once the pairing process is complete it should take about 30 seconds from the time the PlayStation® Vita is turned on to switch the audio over to the Senta Ally.

    • Can the Senta Ally play SD card recordings made with the CC Witness or CC Witness Plus?

Mp3 recordings (not CD quality .wav files) made with the CC Witness Plus, will sound great on the Senta Ally. The Sent Ally does not have the ability to play .wav files.

    • How come my charging display does not look like the pictures on page 3 of the instruction manual?

A step was accidently left out of the instruction manual. Perform steps 1 and 2 as stated in the manual. Then press and hold the Pause/Play button for 3 seconds.

    • What is the proper way to insert an SD card into the Senta Ally?

Orientate the Senta Ally so that the right side is facing towards you. Insert the SD card upside down with the slanted side of the card towards the left. It will be a tight fit but it will slide in. To avoid damage to the unit, do not force the card inside.

  • POWER

    • How long will the battery last when playing audio?

Bluetooth®: The runtime on a full battery charge will vary depending on the volume and what type of audio you are playing. At 50% volume you can expect approximately 6-8 hours of battery life while using Bluetooth with the display light off.

USB: Not all USB Thumb Drives are created equal. Some USB drives use more power than others. Because of this situation, it is difficult to estimate what runtimes you could expect while using a USB drive.

SD Card: Depending on the volume and what type of audio you are playing, the runtime on a full battery charge will vary. However, at 50% volume you can expect approximately 6-8 hours of battery life while listening to audio from an SD card with the display light off.

Line-IN: Requires the least amount of processing power of all the playback modes. Therefore, using Line-In audio will provide the longest runtimes. At 50% volume, a full battery will last approximately 10-12 hours with the display light off.

FM Radio: At 50% volume and depending on the audio you are listening to, you can expect 8-11 hours of runtime with the display light off.

    • Why is my battery power running down so fast?

First, check to make sure that you have the display light set to turn off after a certain period of time or turn it off completely in the Settings menu. The display takes extra power when it is on. Second, if you are listening to audio at loud volumes, the battery power will be reduced. The louder the volume, the more power it takes, and the quicker the battery will drain.

    • The Senta Ally will not turn on. How come?

If using the provided mini USB cable, verify that the cable is securely connected to the mini USB port on the Senta Ally speaker and the USB port on your computer. If using the battery, connect the unit to a computer USB port and allow sufficient charging time (see pages 3 & 4 of the instruction manual).

    • Can I use my Senta Ally without the battery pack in it?

Yes, it is possible to do this. First, remove the battery from the battery compartment. Next connect the charging cable to the Senta Ally as normal and connect it to your computers USB port. Turn on the power and enjoy!

Note: The battery indicator of the Ally will show as fully charged in this mode.

    • Can I listen to the Senta Ally while it is charging?

Yes, but it is not recommended that you listen to it at high volumes while charging (50% of a wheel turn on the volume control).

    — Gary B., San Francisco, CA
