Heavy rainfall and flooding are causing hazardous conditions in the areas of Louisiana,
Oklahoma and Texas and is affecting shipping operations.
Please check UPS.com and FedEx.com for detailed information.

You may have noticed this new acronym popping up on some of our products. RoHS stands for Restrictions on Hazardous Substances, and it's a directive that could have a huge impact on the production and disposal of consumer electronics. First adopted in Europe in 2006 (and later adopted in California in 2007), RoHS restricts the use of six dangerous substances in lots of common electronics. According to the official RoHS compliance Web site (www.rohs.eu), the RoHS symbol indicates that "new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market does not contain any of the six banned substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), in quantities exceeding maximum concentration values."
While some military and medical equipment is exempt from RoHS compliance, the electronics governed by the standard are among the most common you'll find in your home, from radios to MP3 players to cell phones and (increasingly) computers. In practical terms, the standard protects factory workers at the production level, sharply reducing their exposure to hazardous substances. The standard also has a profound impact on the disposal and recycling of electronics, in that disposed substances will no longer have at least six of the most hazardous chemicals formerly found in electronics, and recycled electronics will not expose workers to toxics as they harvest components.
The CC X Mile is a great solution for getting WiFi in your RV, Big Rig, Boat, Home or remote Business.
The long 28” 8dBi omnidirectional WiFi antenna provides a strong signal strength in all directions. For long range reception, it is best to mount the X Mile outside and up high where distant signals can be received without obstructions. Up to 150Mbps transfer speed with wireless N.
The 8dBi WiFi antenna has a cast-aluminum mounting bracket and outdoor rated connections for many years of reliable use. It can mount to a wall or a ½” to 2” pipe mast (not included). For maximum performance in even tougher WiFi environments we recommend the CC X Mile and Point-to-Point 15dBi Antenna system. Using the directional Point to Point and X Mile together we were able to cut through interference caused by too many WiFi networks, boost our signal strength by approximately 200% and receive up to 4 times more power.
The CC X Mile works with Windows® 2000-8, Mac® 10.4-10.8, Linux Kernel 2.6 and Ubuntu 10.10 (It does not work on MAC OS 10.9). Requires the installation of software drivers. Gaming stations such as the Xbox® and Sony PlayStation®, the iPad®, iPhone®, Android® and Windows RT® devices are not capable of installing these software drivers.

If the CC X Mile can see more than 30 strong networks nearby then there may be too much interference for it to work at full speed. Try using the CC X Mile closer to ground level which should help to alleviate some of the interference. For distant WiFi signals in crowded locations, we recommend using our Point-to-Point directional WiFi antenna. This will focus the signal in the direction of the desired WiFi location.
Typically, it will reach over 100 yards away to a normal router, depending on obstructions. Under ideal circumstances, it will reach over a mile away to a normal router. This would require no obstructions whatsoever and for it to be used in a rural location without many WiFi networks causing interference.
Check the connection between the antenna and the cable to be sure they are tightly connected. If only one USB port is available, make sure to use the main USB cable connector, not the optional Power Boost connector (single loose connector).
Check the bottom taskbar area for a security shield or message that is asking permission to install the software. Also, if your computer has a third-party firewall or virus protection installed, you may have to temporarily disable it.
You may not have a strong enough WiFi connection. Successful connection to a wireless network usually requires a minimum of 2 bars of signal. If the signal is low, you can try relocating or repositioning the antenna with a better line-of-sight view to the WiFi source; or the wireless network does not offer internet service; or a firewall/virus protection is preventing access.
Be sure that the antenna is positioned vertically in a location that is not obstructed to the WiFi source. Mount your antenna outside and up high for best reception. If your desired WiFi network still shows a weak signal, then try a larger antenna with the CC X Mile.
No, the CC X Mile should not be connected to an additional passive USB extension cable. Please use the 30' USB cable that came with the antenna. It is not recommended to exceed the length of the 30' USB cable, as it can cause severe signal loss.
Connect to the network and click on "Add Profile". See "How to configure Network preferences for 802.1X" for more information.
It is not a requirement, but it is recommended. If both WiFi connections are going at the same time, it will require more power from your computer and will create extra heat. Usually there is a button, switch, or key on a laptop that disables the internal WiFi device.
No. The CC X Mile requires installation of software drivers. At this time, the iPad®/iPhone®/Android® devices are not capable of installing software drivers.
